Rock 4 You is the biggest Rock dance school in France! Founded in 2017 by Cédric Anjuère, who has been teaching Rock since 2008, the school has kept growing year after year. Today it brings together a team of more than 40 enthusiasts, including teachers, organisers, coordinators and party hosts… all here to help you discover (and love) Rock!On the programme: weekly classes for all levels, weekend workshops, dance parties all over Paris, and even an online class platform to learn at your own pace.Want to know more about our story, our values or our teachers? Rock isn't a single dance but a big family of partner dances found all over the world. At Rock 4 You, we teach French 4 Beats Rock (there was a clue in the name). It's the most accessible of all the Rocks, and the French equivalent of Modern Jive and Country Swing (Country Couple Dance), with a few minor differences.French 4 Beats Rock is a partner dance with a leader and a follower, who link moves together to 4-beat music in many different styles (pop, rock, electro, disco, …). Born in France in the 1950s, it quickly spread through every part of society. You'll find it at weddings, student parties, balls… and even abroad: Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, … (although each country has developed its own local variant).

Although both dances are called “Rock” and both date back to the 1950s, they have evolved very differently over the years and differ on several points:• The basic step: French 4 Beats Rock has no structured basic step, unlike 6 Beats Rock, which inherits the logic of Swing (rock step – triple step).• The music: 6 Beats Rock is often danced to 1950s-60s music (hence its slightly retro image), whereas French 4 Beats Rock adapts to almost any style: pop, electro, disco, house, rock, funk… as long as the rhythm is in 4 beats.• The dance style: 6 Beats Rock keeps a very Swing/Rockabilly look. Impressive when well mastered, it can also look like “stomping” if the technique isn't there. French 4 Beats Rock is freer, more fluid, adapts to the music and lets everyone develop their own style.• The community: let's be honest, the average age of the dancers isn't the same. In 6 Beats Rock it's around 60-65, while the French 4 Beats Rock community is younger: around 30 on average.For English speakers: French 4 Beats Rock is the French equivalent of Modern Jive and Country Swing (Country Couple Dance), with a few minor differences.

We all have that image of 1950s Rock with old folks bouncing around, often from films or old 6 Beats Rock music videos… but forget all that! The Rock you'll learn at Rock 4 You is modern, rhythmic and sometimes even acrobatic. The average age in our classes is around 30. We promise, Rock is anything but a dusty dance. It's a lively dance that attracts more and more new enthusiasts every year!

Rock is a partner dance, so it isn't danced alone (you're free to try, of course, but good luck!).

Yes! Throughout the year, we organise Rock parties at various venues in Paris: Mondays at the Concorde, Fridays at the Alésia studio, plus one-off dates (themed parties, the Gala, competitions and plenty of other projects you'll discover during the year).

French 4 Beats Rock is the heart of our school, but not the only dance on offer. All our group classes are taught in French. However, all our teachers speak English and can help you during the lesson. If you come with a partner, he or she can also help you understand the instructions. So no need to speak perfect French to start dancing!As for Spanish, one of our teachers is fluent and can offer private lessons, but group classes are not yet available in Spanish.

Yes! Specific classes are offered for children (dance initiation from age 4) and for teenagers. These classes are not limited to Rock: Classical Dance, Hip-Hop, Modern Jazz, Street Jazz… There's something for all tastes and all ages.Find all our studios' schedules on our homepage!

Yes! We've launched a platform entirely dedicated to online classes: www.bien-danser.comThere you'll find French 4 Beats Rock classes (of course), as well as Tango, Belly Dance, Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Survival Kits to learn to dance in nightclubs or avoid sitting all evening at a wedding. Clear, progressive videos available any time: perfect for learning at your own pace… from home.

Big news in 2025: the creation of the Rock 4 You Troupe, made up of experienced dancers, teachers and future teachers. The goal is to share our passion for Rock through synchronised choreographies, promote this dance in France and abroad, and represent the school in shows, music videos, musicals and even film projects. It's Rock 4 You's artistic showcase… and a real group adventure!
